Traveling into the Little 5 Points area of Atlanta, you will undoubtedly see a large number of strange things… one of them being the Wrecking Bar Brewpub. Located near the heart of the restaurant area, you could easily pass right by it thinking that it is a church or possible an antiques shop (and it has been both!). With awesome free valet parking (Tip well, you’ll be using that money towards the high-priced parking anywhere else near this area), this place will give you a nice sense of casual comfort nearing the entrance. In side, you’re welcome to sit at their comfortable bar or the hostess will seat you for some absolutely awesome pub food and some of the freshest tasting brewpub beers around!
I return to this brewpub time and time again. As with many brewpubs, they offer flights of beer so that you can try all of the selections they offer at this time. The tap is constantly rotating, and out of the dozens of times that I have visited, they have yet to miss their mark on any of their brews! Another note of interest is their Wrecking Bar Burger; their selection is vast, however I just can’t bring myself to order anything else. I think that I could order this burger every day of the week and not get tired of it! The brewpub offers tours of their facility, a full bar including their own brews, exceptional food, and they even host beer events on numerous occasions. If you’re headed to Little 5Points, there is a lot of awesome places to try: Wrecking Bar should be first on your list!
Best Beer:
The tap is constantly rotating, but my current favorite is Hop Noggin IIPA. This 9% double IPA smells like the mix between west coast hops and almost European malts. The herbal and piny aroma battles for flavor against citriusy fruit flavors. You won't know that this is a 9% beer, until it's too late.
